Utilize agentic capabilities in AI Mode to complete tasks
In AI Mode, new agentic capabilities can make it easier to complete tasks. Today marks the beginning of our rollout with restaurant reservations, which will soon include local service appointments and event tickets. For instance, AI Mode will now make it easier for you to inquire about making a dinner reservation with friends that takes into account a variety of constraints and preferences, such as the size of the party, the date, the time, the location, and the cuisine you prefer. It will search multiple reservation websites and platforms to locate real-time availability for restaurants that meet your specific requirements and then present you with a carefully selected list of restaurants with available reservation slots from which to choose. AI Mode does the legwork for you and takes you directly to the booking page, making it simple for you to complete your reservation at the end. Under the hood, AI Mode uses the live web browsing capabilities of Project Mariner, direct partner integrations on Search, and the power of our Knowledge Graph and Google Maps to help users take action on the web. To make this experience possible, we are collaborating with numerous partners, including OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, Booksy, and others. Through the “Agentic capabilities in AI Mode” experiment in Labs, this new agentic experience is being made available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States.
Check out recommendations tailored just for you
People in the United States who have chosen to participate in the AI Mode experiment in Labs will now see outcomes that are tailored to their specific preferences and interests. We’ll start with topics about dining and help you find new cafes and restaurants that suit your preferences. Take the query, “I only have an hour, need a quick lunch spot, any suggestions?” as your search query. AI Mode can use your previous conversations, along with places you’ve searched for or tapped on in Search and Maps to deliver more relevant options, personalized to you. Therefore, if AI Mode concludes that you prefer Italian cuisine, plant-based fare, and establishments with outdoor seating, you might receive recommendations similar to these. You’re in control of what context you share with Google and can adjust your personalization settings in your Google Account at any time.
Explore and work together with your loved ones. With our new link-sharing feature, which is now available in the United States, you can now share anything you find inspiring in AI Mode with friends and family. Your contacts can continue exploring on their own by simply tapping the “Share” button and continuing where you left off in the AI Mode response. When you want to work together on projects like planning a trip or a birthday party, this can be especially helpful. Your shared links are always under your control as the sender, and you can delete them at any time.
